John Steele, HTR-MEP Project Manager

John joined HTR in 2007 to focus on growth and innovation with HTR’s industrial and manufacturing clients. He was one of the first New York MEP staff to be certified in the various Eureka Ranch processes for generating and taking action on growth and was selected out of over 300 trained coaches as one of 8 to assist with national development of the various Eureka systems and piloted several versions locally and out side of New York State. He was awarded the 2010 Group Practitioner of the Year Award from NIST-MEP for work on NIST Innovation Engineering systems and was selected as part of the first group to receive training for a Black Belt Certification in Innovation Engineering. He received the certification in September of 2011.

John has a background in Sales, Marketing and Business Development across diverse products and markets from electrical and electronic components, to IT systems and most recently optical thin films and illumination. Working with and selling to some of the worlds largest organizations from a much smaller firm gives extensive experience in building the relationships and credibility that form the basis for mutual success. 

Growth and exporting are a particular area of expertise as John has significant experience and success in international markets including Europe and Asia. This knowledge and experience is valuable across many of the MEP growth missions when assisting MEP clients. 

His career has spanned the range from technical Product Management to Senior Level Sales & Marketing and he holds a BS in Economics and an MBA in Industrial Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh.
