FluoroLogic, Inc. is developing a minimally-invasive, light-based BioProbe System to screen for cervical cancer. The system comprises a patent-pending light-based probe that collects fluorescence emitted by cervical tissues. Preliminary research results indicate that the fluorescence-based method used by FluoroLogic yields sensitivity and specificity levels of 90% and higher – significant improvements over the current standard of care. The initial addressable US market for the BioProbe equipment is more than 15,000 systems, with an estimated market potential of $375M. Steady state sales of a disposable, one-time-use probe sheath are over $200M annually. The OUS addressable market is estimated to be about 1.5X the US market.
