Bob Kot, Director of New Ventures

Bob Kot joined HTR in June 2011 and brings 35 years experience, many as a CEO, President, GM and VP Sales and Marketing as a result of working with companies that provided technology based products and integrated systems that improved the manufacturing process, increased safety, reduced energy consumption or aided in the cost effective manufacturing of PV solar cells.

Brought in by many venture organizations to assist companies achieve accelerated growth, virtually all of his efforts have been in understanding customer requirements and focusing the company to truly understand their value proposition and crisply deliver the solutions globally via a direct sales force, reps, OEM partners and hybrid sales channels. In many early stage companies, the growth process included the development of business plans and the identification of potential sources of funding. Once the plan was finished and funding sources identified, Bob would lead the team and obtain this additional funding from new and/or existing investors or from potential customers who perceived a critical need for the company’s technology.

These companies have ranged from multi-billion dollar global organizations to those as small as start-ups. From an operational perspective, Bob’s experience is enhanced with a strategic discipline learned from large companies such as Honeywell and Rexnord and the sense of urgency and financial focus gained from the small, including start-ups. In addition to assisting other companies, Bob has commercialized technology from a world renowned university and started his own technology company in Houston Texas.

The markets and customers include manufacturing, research, quality and regulatory compliance within the food and pharmaceutical industries. Bob’s experience also encompasses chemicals, metals, textiles, automotive, consumer and energy companies many of which have been owned by venture capital organizations, private individuals or corporations – public and private.

As an engineer, Bob thoroughly understands the technology and products offered and he approaches the growth process with the same degree of analytics as he does continuous improvement in manufacturing. As someone with an extra measure of sales DNA in his tissue, Bob knows that team building and operational excellence cannot be legislated – it must be nurtured so that all can perform at their personal best thereby providing attractive financial returns.
